Aomori Museum of Art Collection Exhibition
The people of the north
Aomori is the northernmost part of Honshu. From this northern earth, a variety of talents that could not fit within the framework of so-called "arts" were born, capturing the times from a sharp perspective and drastically changing the expression of the times.
Shiko Munakata, who created a unique style for Shinto and Buddha statues and beauty paintings, Ichiro Kojima, who is called Millet in the photography world, Toru Narita, the creator of Ultra Monsters, Tetsugrami Kudo, who continued to provoke the world with radical object works, and Nara poet and playwright who led the young Ann culture of the 1960s.
This exhibition introduces the artistic characteristics nurtured by the climate of Tohoku and Aomori through the collection of the Aomori Museum of Art.
At the same time, we will explore the appeal of the Aomori Museum of Art, which has received high praise for architecture, signatures, and uniforms.
