KIRE, KIRE, TEN – Modern folk costume
An up-and-coming fashion designer with a textile company
“modern folk costumes” expressed from cloth through collaboration
A total of 20 brands, from brands that are active in the field of mode and fashion to emerging brands that debut in this project, will hold a festival of "modern folk costumes" for 18 days at the PARCO Museum in Ikebukuro.
Participating designers, with the cooperation of factories in production areas scattered throughout Japan, focus deeply on materials (kire = cloth) in processes such as selection, development, and processing. Utilizing the characteristics of materials made by various methods such as squeeze dyeing, needle punch, print, and horizontal knitting, we will produce and display the common theme of "modern folk costumes" in the interpretation of each designer. The shop inside the venue will sell original goods such as bags made with cloth used to produce costumes.
