Contents of the exhibition
Susan Chanthioro is a fashion designer and artist active in NY who has come up with innovative ideas, such as one piece of clothes with elements of hand stitching (hand sewing) and collaboration with various artists and musicians. After working as an assistant for "X-Girl" when Kim Gordon was just starting, he started working on naming his fashion line "RUN Collection" in 1995, and since then he has made regular presentations in various forms. The style that incorporates the sense of handmade into the mode has been acclaimed by Martin Margera, bringing a new breeze into the fashion world. Her presentation was not just showing clothes in the Lan Weiss tile, but rather showing them in the art gallery, making films, and putting them on to actors in it, different from the usual fashion presentation. Susan's RUN presentation will continue until 2025, and since then, it has shifted to activities that delve into my personal world. Her delicate and gentleness, full of LOVE & PEACE, but on the other hand, the edged sensibilities will appeal deeply to our hearts as the social situation shakes.
This exhibition, entitled "VAST FUTURE", is a retrospective of her nearly 10 years of activities, and at the same time, it is a show where you can learn about her current appearance, which has begun to move toward the next stage. Despite all the valuable works that Susan has kept in a safe place, most of them are specially exhibited and sold according to her intentions, so this show will be the first and last one to be held at this scale and content. Of course, Susan himself also came to Japan, worked on the venue design, and did not miss this exciting exhibition that includes workshops with her! ! |

Cianciolo (Susan Chanthiolo)
Born in Rhode Island, USA. After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design and Parsons (NY), he worked as an assistant at Kim Gordon's "X-girl" and started his own "RUN Collection" in 1995. The work is located in New York, where there are many practical designs, and is full of innovative ideas such as handmade, patchwork, embroidery, and denim skirts created by the buyer himself. In 1996, RUN in Chinatown, NY.
Opened STUDIO, in the same year, he released the video work "Proposit Anti Pink", "Diadal" in 1998 (appeared by Rita Ackerman), and "Love Life" in 2001. These RUN Collection & RUN Presentation series have been held 12 times to date. He had been suspended for a while since the 19911 terrorist attacks, but in 2003 he held solo exhibitions in Milan and New York, and is now expected to develop new developments. |
