Will Sweeney
Will Sweeney

Born in a hospital, raised in Oxford, went on to John Moore University in Liverpool and went on to the Royal College of Art in London.
I think it can be said that my work has a strong connection with comics and visual stories. I'm heavily influenced by music, especially the jacking of punks and psychedelia records. Major influences (not in order), Charles Burns, 2000AD, Posada, De Chirico, Goya, Bonzo Dog Band Herge, The Prisner, Dario Argento, the 80's film "Flash Gordon", Jim Jermush, and other silos artists.
Work history: I started working as a professional, starting with the creation of tie-up illustrations for magazines such as The Face, Dazed & Confused, Sleazenation, Time Out, and Trace. As you gain experience, research laboratories in Phillips, Output Records, V2 Records, Stussy We have gradually started working with a wide range of clients such as the UK.
When I started working with Silas, I was asked to come up with ideas and illustrations for T-shirts from the "Gug" series. Since then, I have gradually started working on Silas promotions and T-shirts. My first major work as Silas was the band's catalogue, which was a very exciting project for me. This was the catalyst for creating my own original comic book.
Silas is my main client, but it also receives requests from other companies. Last year, we designed three-style T-shirts from Riva Is Western Europe and were sold in Riva Is USA and Riva Is Australia. Recently, he has completed a shirt design for Stussy Japan and has contributed to the production of 333 clubs in Showditch since last year, the showdownitch Twat fanzines, and the channel 4TV show that will be broadcast in the future. But recently, the most rewarding job was Silas' work.
Recent Activities: Illustration of the Promo video of Rei Dy Tron's "Vicky" (Terster Record), Art Direction for Monocool 78 Records, illustration and design work, Stephen Malkmus's "Dark Wave" promo video illustrations (Domino Records), Levi Strauss illustrations and T-shirt designs, CD jacking designs for Virgin Records, and illustrations for Sunday Times Magazine
Past Activities: Stussy UK, Dazed & Confused, Sleaze Nation, Phillips Electronics, New Musical Express Paper
I'm currently planning an idea for a full-color comic strip that Silas will publish in early 2004. The idea of the exhibition in Parco is based on the composition of the project.
Other activities: Performed live performances in UK and Western Europe with Zongamin, recording with Zongamin, headsshoppe and song making and rehearsal ~ Scheduled to record albums in November
Interest and influence: Guitar performances and collections, drawing and reading, record collection, and collection of interesting books are the main sources that influence my work. Now I am John Hinde's Butlin photographs, Jack Kirby's Forever people, Racinet's history "Western Costume", and Jim Jocoy's punk photograph "We're Desperate".
