Contents of the exhibition
In recent years, when photographic expressions in fashion magazines have visibly lost their freshness, illustrations have become a big movement that symbolizes 2003, with special features incorporating large-scale illustrations in fashion magazines in various countries.
At the Parco Museum, an exhibition will be held in conjunction with the illustration book of the same name scheduled to be published by Littlemore this fall, presenting new possibilities for illustration as post-photography. The latest illustrations beyond photographs and paintings will be exhibited at once. All works/artists with the hyper-cutting edge lineup are a must-see! Workshops and talk shows by participating creators will also be held. |

In 2003, the emergence of novel illustration images that appeared one after another from all over the world is not just a revival of illustrations.
Their new descriptiveness and creativity, which are often based on original photographic images using computers, show a new dimension as post-photography that exceeds photography.
In this exhibition, nine artists (groups) who are attracting attention from inside and outside the current illustrations are exhibited at once.
If you see this diversity and dynamism as substitutes for the stagnant photographic expression, you will feel the momentum of illustrations swallowing photos.
