Ikutaro Murakami solo exhibition HELLO
Copy the URL
SkiiMa Gallery will hold a solo exhibition by painter Ikutaro Murakami as one of the artists who are expected to be active in the future.
This exhibition will be the first solo exhibition in Kansai.
Murakami was born in Tokyo and is based in Tokyo. After graduating from the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts in 2020, I started my activities in earnest. Due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have released many still life paintings depicting scenes in the room.
Murakami's work is drawn using colored pencils, and if you look up close, you will be surprised by the color surface filled with fine brushwork. The screen is mainly composed of flowers and fruits, and the screen is composed by combining colors to paint different formats such as plates, vases, floors, walls, etc. In this regard, the influence of student days who were interested in textile design remains strong, and one screen is finished by combining colors while looking at the balance of colors and shapes. Murakami's sense of color has a unique personality and shows a world that others cannot think of.
In this exhibition, in addition to still life paintings, landscape paintings that began to be drawn this year will be exhibited for the first time.
How do you capture and draw landscapes in landscape paintings that you started drawing with the desire to try new things while consciousness goes outside?
Please take a look at the venue.
■Artist statement
For three years since I started working as a writer, I have mainly produced scenes and still life paintings in my room, but it was a creation with arrows facing inside, like a dialogue with my inner world.
From around the end of last year, I gradually became interested in the outside, and I felt like I had accumulated energy to evolve into a new self.
And since the beginning of this year, I have been creating a series of landscape paintings inspired by the scenery I saw when climbing.
In this exhibition, still life paintings drawn up to last year and landscape paintings created this year will be displayed together.
I will present myself and my new self in Osaka, where my first solo exhibition will be held.
I put my exciting and positive feelings in the title "HELLO".
