PROFILE
MHAK | Masahiro Akutagawa
Born in Wakamatsu, Aizu in 1981. Painter/artist.
Since he was influenced by designer furniture and interior space, he works mainly on murals under the theme of "coexistence with living space" with paintings as part of the interior. We believe that co-existing space and painting requires the recognition of the painting itself as an atmosphere, and pursue a style that focuses on abstract expression. He has created a unique, repetitive style built with curves, and has worked on a number of interior murals such as private residences, restaurants, and hotel rooms, as well as exterior murals of stores such as Levi's® HARAJUKU and RVCA SHIBUYA.
In addition, he has provided artwork to many street brands, including global companies such as YONEX and THE NORTH FACE, and in particular, in his collaboration with adidas Skateboarding, which was announced in 2017, he developed a collection that includes signature shoes with his own name globally and attracted a great deal.
In addition, he has been involved in a wide range of activities, including mural production and exhibition activities in each region as a regional revitalization and as a member of the 81BASTARDS artist group that requires members from all over the world, and to date, not only in Japan but also in the United States, Australia, Italy, Argentina, and other cities, and continues to expand his unique worldview both domestically and internationally.

What's the difference?
The word "Ratsubo" refers to a state in which various things are mixed.
New York City, which is a mixture of many ethnicities, is a word that was created by a mixture of races.
RUTSUBO, a brand name, has the meaning of expressing a mix of brands, writers, culture, etc. around the world.
It is a lifestyle brand that adults can enjoy based on the street culture that we grew up without specializing in specific genres.
"HASAMI" is a brand of Hasami porcelain porcelain from Hasami town, Nagasaki prefecture.
Hasami has been a subcontracting production area in Arida for a long time, so its name was not well known. Hasami ware, which excels in mass production, has a division of labor to place orders for molding, molding, glaze and kilns. This system, in which many people work together, involves a large amount of money and time to develop new products, as well as communication problems in each work process. However, on the other hand, we have developed high technical capabilities and efficient production systems in each field.
HASAMI creates ceramics as "tools" with pride as a production area, transcending the boundaries of division of labor. It is to be used, often used, and used. We make "tools" that are loved with mysterious power that cannot be expressed in words.
