I am so excited to bring to life my journey of knitting and fibre work. Knitting has become a huge part of my life and mindful practice, allowing me to get the best out of myself. I want to share that creative joy and mindful practice with as many people as possible. This exhibition at the Parco museum Tokyo is an accumulation of many of my favorite pieces, in addition to showcasing my Olympic medals.
I am very pleased that the journey of my heart through knitting and yarn will take shape.
Knitting is an important element of life for me, and it calms my mind.
And it brings you to the fullest of yourself.
Through this exhibition, I would like to share with as many people as possible the joy of manufacturing and the comfort of knitting brings to my heart. In addition to collecting many of my favorite works at the exhibition, we will also display Olympic gold medals.
Sponsor comments - knitting, unraveling, knitting -
Every year, Parco holds a cultural festival of diversity and inclusion, "Aito Ambigation," and has collaborated with artists who overcome barriers of common sense and expression with their own sensitivity. This time, I am very pleased to be able to hold an exhibition introducing the knit work of Tom Daly, a global athlete and knit artist.
Knitting is a high degree of freedom that allows you to create various shapes by tying or unraveling a single thread. You can also unfold the finished work and re-knit it into another form. We hope you will feel the splendid creation of Tom Daly, who continues to challenge without fear of failure in the field of creation through the freedom of expression of knitting.
