Art & Culture Event <P.O.N.D.>, the fifth event. Based in Shibuya PARCO, various artists such as art, music, fashion, etc. gather. "PARCO Opens New Dimension", we will hold exhibitions and performance events to create new perspectives and inspiration among artists and viewers.
The concept of 2024 is "SIDE BY SIDE / Expanding". Today, while receiving a lot of information every day, various values and ways are declared. Through the appreciation experience at <P.O.N.D.>, see the same thing next to each other again. Be side by side with someone who has a different way of thinking and stand with the same gaze. Through inner communication with others, we aim to create a space where visibility can be further expanded.
Because Shibuya PARCO is the most scrambled city in Japan, it is an opportunity to think about seeing different things and seeing the same things. Enjoy 11 days filled with the energy of art and culture.

Toru Kase
Performs graphic design work in the fields of art, music, fashion, film, etc., as well as production and exhibitions on <traces of existence> and <places of images rising with graphic objects>, and commission work on various media.

◆ Art Director’s comment
"This year's P.O.N.D. is the theme of 'SIDE BY SIDE'. For example, when you appreciate a single work with various people, you have different thoughts and emotions. From the opposite point of view, the work in which various people have different thoughts and emotions is one work. "I received a story at the beginning of the key visual production.
So, as a creator, I used one of my hands every day to create images of several hands in several different environments, and proposed them as key visuals.
Some of my hands that became key visuals are not only one of my hands, but also multiple hands that have a different impression in each image.
In digital signage production (video production), Daisuke Hasegawa and Takumi Bando of Daisuke Hasegawa Studio re-explained the images of my hands and produced the video.
SPATIAL DIRECTOR
The space design was handled by the Architectural Collective GROUP, and as a place where the history of Shibuya PARCO and art intersect, it creates a space where fragments of culture drift with cardboard furniture.

◆ Spatial Director’s comment
Since its opening in 1973, Shibuya PARCO has been transforming and growing along with Shibuya as a place where fashion, entertainment, art and technology gather. This facility is the history of the culture that Shibuya continues to transmit.
<P.O.N.D.2024> The theme of "SIDE BY SIDE" is to be next to each other. Based on our research, we will create a place where fragments of Shibuya PARCO archives drift along with works. The exhibition space fixtures are mainly made of cardboard, and the Shibuya PARCO has been reproduced with a slight collapse.
<P.O.N.D.2024> will create new discoveries, nostalgic memories, and exhibitions that meet again in the city of Shibuya by combining the archives of time and art.
