Kim Jungyoun (read by Kim Jong Yoon), a painter and illustrator based in Seoul, Korea. Japan's first solo exhibition will be held at Shibuya PARCO.
Jungyoun was strongly influenced by Japanese manga and anime that he met during his childhood. The work is characterized by the contrast between a boldly deformed but lively expression with fashion and background drawn with attention to detail, and his own basketball experience and his thoughts on street culture and fashion are reflected in the work.
Jungyoun, who began painting since elementary school, has held his first solo exhibition in 2016, and has held four solo exhibitions in Seoul so far. During his solo exhibition "Inspiration" in 2021, the member RM of BTS, also known as an art enthusiast, also visited the event, and his SNS contribution triggered the world's attention.
Jungyoun has been widely active not only as a painter but also as an illustrator in Korea, and has been involved in many client work such as NIKE, Samsung, Heineken, and has also produced collaborative works with brands.
In this exhibition, which will be held for the first time in Japan, approximately 30 works including watercolors (paper), acrylic paintings (canvas), and animation works will be exhibited and sold, focusing on newly drawn works.
