Introduction

What made Mr. Brainwash's name widely known to the world was the first documentary film "Iggit Through the Gift Shop" (released in 2010), which was nominated for the Academy Award as the first director of street artist Banksy. It goes without saying that this film has played a major role in questioning the essence and significance of art, spreading the presence of Banksy, the director of Mr. Brainwash, who has become an "artist", and leading to the recent street art movement.
Mr Brainwash will continue to develop his career as an artist in earnest with this film.
In addition to large solo exhibitions and artist-in-residence at Art Barcel, the world's largest art fair, album jackets for musicians such as Madonna, Red Foot Cilippers, and Rick Ross, art collaboration with former President Michel Obama and soccer player Pele, and social contributions through art activities, transcending the boundaries of contemporary art.
In this exhibition, which will be Japan's first full-scale solo exhibition, approximately 80 works by Mr. Brainwash will be exhibited. He draws out new charms and creates many works with different values by harmonizing and colliding the elements of mass production of pop art with the expression methods such as paint, spray, and stencil used in street art.

MR.BRAINWASH (Mr. brainwash)

Street artist/video writer. Real name Thierry Gwetta. Born in France, moved to LA in the 1980s. He started his career as a filmmaker in 2007.
He started his career as a street artist in earnest in the wake of the Banksy movie "Iggit through the Gift Shop" that appeared.
