GODZILLA THE ART by PARCO vol.3

Since the release of Godzilla, the first work in 1954, Godzilla has produced and released a total of 38 Godzilla series, including 30 domestic works, 3 animations, and 5 Hollywood editions. This time, the third installment of the art project <GODZILLA THE ART> of Godzilla's 70th anniversary project started in 2023, "GODZILLA THE ART by PARCO vol.3".
The participating artists are Kosuke Kawamura, a collage artist who is active both in Japan and overseas, and Kensuke Koike, a collage artist who works mainly overseas. The statue of Godzilla suit and diorama used in Godzilla movies will also be released specially. A special Godzilla figure commemorating the holding of GODZILLA THE ART will also be on sale.

GODZILLA THE ART, an art project in which contemporary artists express Godzilla that they interpret beyond the framework of film.
"GODZILLA THE ART" started as a 70th anniversary project to celebrate in 2024.
The first theatre was released in 1954, and Godzilla, now a global icon, has shown us various expressions in the past 70 years, but they are not the same and have always changed. ＜GODZILLA THE ART＞ This is a project in which Japanese and foreign expressors living today face Godzilla in their own way beyond the framework of movies and express Godzilla that they interpret. Through the project, we plan to develop various projects such as holding exhibitions and product sales.

Kosuke Kawamura / Kosuke Kawamura
Artist/Graphic Designer. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1979. As a collage artist, he has participated in numerous collaborations with artists, solo exhibitions in Japan and overseas, and group exhibitions. Representative works include Katsuhiro Otomo's first large-scale original painting exhibition "Katsuhiro Otomo GENGA Exhibition" (2012) Main visual production and the presentation of collage work "AKIRA ART WALL PROJECT" using AKIRA (2019), solo exhibition "TRY SOMETHING BETTER" (2021).
He is still active in graphic work for apparel brands, jackets, book bindings, advertising design, and art direction.
He became the creative director of UT in 2021.

Kensuke Koike and Kensuke Koike
Visual artist. Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1980.
After working at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, he completed a major in Visual Art at Venice University of Architecture.
He presents works in various ways such as photo collages, installations, sculptures, and video art. Since 2005, he has held many group exhibitions and solo exhibitions mainly in Italy, in Germany, the United States, Canada, and U.K. His works are included in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The Godzilla template was created to examine the shape of Godzilla that appears in the first Godzilla series "Godzilla" (1954). At the stage of modeling examination, the design was like a turkey-covered body, and it was different from the now widely known Godzilla figure. The Godzilla template is a form that can be said to be the origin of Godzilla.
