For 19 days from April 27 (Thu.) to May 15 (Mon.), 2023, 2023, 5/15 (Mon.), "GODZILLA THE ART by PARCO" on Shibuya PARCO B1F, "GALLERY X BY PARCO" will be held as the first art project GODZILLA THE ART with PARCO. This project is scheduled to be held several times as a series project thereafter. This time, as a collaborative artist with Godzilla, we will welcome NOH Sangho from Gakiya and Korea to exhibit and develop collaboration works and statues of Godzilla.

Collaboration Artist Introduction
Gakiyadosa
While working as an illustrator, he continues to work as an artist, such as participating in exhibitions and art festivals at museums. Gakiya, born and raised in Okinawa Prefecture, is influenced by the remnants of American culture that remains in Okinawa, and the image he created makes me feel the world view of the post-war American horrors, science fiction movies and Ame Komi. The image of a mixture of various times and places reflects our lives in countless values and large amounts of information in a mature modern society.

After graduating from a famous art university in Korea, Komasu University, he presented his works at solo and joint exhibitions. I'm working on an album jacket illustration for the popular Korean rock band HYUKOH.

Movie Monster Series Godzilla (1954) Hinagata

We will sell "Movie Monster Series Godzilla (1954) Hinagata" as a limited sale figure of this project. The first Godzilla template was created to consider the modeling of Godzilla that appeared in the first Godzilla series "Godzilla" (1954). At the stage of modeling study, the body was designed to be covered with scales, and it was different from the currently widely known figure of Godzilla. The first Godzilla template is exactly the origin of Godzilla.

In this exhibition, in addition to art works by collaborative artists, a statue of Godzilla (pictured above) and a diorama will be installed.
Start of art project "GODZILLA THE ART"
The first movie of theatre was released in 1954, and Godzilla is now a global icon. We will start "GODZILLA THE ART" for the 70th anniversary of birth in 2024. Menji Yoro, an anatomist, was appointed as the general producer. In this project, contemporary artists and creators who are active in various fields will express Godzilla with their own sensibility. As the first step, "GODZILLA THE ART by PARCO" will be held at Shibuya PARCO from April 27th. In addition, various projects are in progress. Please pay attention to the announcement in the future.
