STITCH SHOW Publishing Commemorative Exhibition
Embroidery art and design work, expression drawn with stitches
The exhibition "STITCH SHOW" with the same name as the book "STITCH SHOW Embroidery Art & Design Work, 50 Expressions Drawing with Stitch" (edited by Junko Yazaki / Published by B N Shinsha) will be held.
After the popular publication commemorative exhibition at Spiral last September, which was well received, this time we will also interweave works other than those listed and see them.
Workshops and related products of creators will also be sold during the exhibition. Even if you say embroidery at a bite, the method and concept of the work vary.
We would appreciate it if you could introduce the embroidery works of creators who are currently attracting attention and discover new possibilities for expressing them with threads and needles.

Out of the 51 artists introduced in the book "STITCH SHOW Embroidery Art & Design Work, 50 Expressions Drawing with Stitch", 6 works will be interwoven and exhibited other than those listed.
Artists participating in the exhibition
Taku Anekawa
Born in 1970. A member of Gallery NANZUKA, is active in Japan and overseas as an artist who produces works using thread-based methods such as embroidery. At his own design office, Kanikapira, he works on creative direction focusing on web design.

Mari Kamio
Born in 1985. Department of Production Design, Tama Art University. He mainly focuses on costume production, textile product production, and installation works. We value the creation of works that inspire the world of imagination and produce everyday life. He has authored "Secret Stitch-Making miscellaneous goods and accessories with embroidery" (PI International)

Clarkson Ruri
Themes of women's studies, modern families, and gender are included in the work. 2013 solo exhibition "Agony WORDS: Embroidered Words of Contemporary Family" Held. Presents works that embroidered modern keywords such as "marriage hunting" based on dajare and associates. It sends out the cuteness of the motif and the punch of Urahara. A wide range of activities including contemporary art and illustrations. Graduated from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University in 2005, SICF14 Second Grand Prix.

After studying clothing at a Japanese university, he studied at an art university in England. Work on embroidery as a fabric processing such as pleats and smocking. Returned to Japan in 2010. Currently, he focuses on the presentation of artwork by stitching drawing, and the embroidery label "patterie". I'm also active as a designer. Received the SICF14 Takashi Asai Award.

Koichiro Takagi
Born in Tokyo. He studied various materials at an art school in San Francisco and returned to Japan after working in New York. He has produced a wide range of works, from painting to embroidery. Through motifs of animals and anthropomorphic animals, people's emotions and contradictions are depicted, and the theme is "comfort" in modern society.

Tomomi Matsuyama
Born in Tokyo in 1983. Graduated from the Graduate School of Arts, Tokai University in 2008. Using needles and threads to create an image in the space with a motif that cannot be seen in the eyes. In recent years, he has presented installations called "Okomori" in various places using clothes and needle tools made by his mother for children.

Embroidery Workshop
In commemoration of the STITCH SHOW exhibition, an embroidery workshop will be held at the Logos Gallery by four artists active in the genres of art, design, and handicrafts. Embroidery time spent with creators who create embroidery works full of originality. Please experience the joy of embroidery while being surrounded by artwork.
(It is also recommended for those who are new to embroidery every time.)

The embroidery label "patterie" This is a workshop by Mr. Suzukirie, who also designs accessories as a designer. An embroidered brooch inspired by a snow-like bouquet over white. Create a mini-frame with embroidery with simple stitches. We will select and embroide your favorite from the three designs of "Deer x Brain Miso", "Rabbit x Bone Cross", and "Cat x Heart" drawn for this workshop. Enjoy the mini frame as a pendant or bag charm by decorating it on the wall or attaching a string. (In the workshop, we will complete one mini frame. You can take 3 pieces of the design home.

Born in Yokohama. A wide range of activities, including the production of paper and embroidery miscellaneous goods, embroidery classes and embroidery artwork for advertisements, and presentation of works in books.
