Contents of the exhibition

In 1978, Sex Pistols' first American tour in San Francisco, the vocalist Johnny Lotton left the band, leaving the saying "Rock is dead." The next time he visited was Jamaica, the home of reggae and dub music, which was popular in London at the time. After that, we returned to London and formed a new band called John Riden, called Public Image Ltd (P.I.L.).
Sounds pursuing avant-garde music, which was said to be state-of-the-art at the time, such as German rock and dub, have produced many followers, including Joy Division and Smith, and have been evaluated without fading even after more than 30 years. In addition, fashion brands such as Undercover, LAD MUSICIAN, and museum neu have been featured as collection themes, and they have gained a wide range of support in the visual aspect.
Dennis Morris, a legendary genius photographer who continued to shoot such activities of P.I.L. and produced both original P.I.L. logos and record jackets, was recognized by Bob Marley at a young age, and left anecdotes such as continuing to shoot from Sex Pistols band activities to private life.
This time, from the time of P.I.L. formation to the time of the second album "Meal Box" released in 1979, and the exhibition "A Bitta P.I.L." will be held at Parco Factory.
Bitta means "fragment, part, little" in slang of Jamaica. Please enjoy each of the bands whose metaphor "P.I.L." was so original that the metaphor was impossible, and the "shards" that cut out the most sharp and miracles of their activity period.

About Dennis Morris

A genius photographer who was 11 years old and was recognized by Bob Marley for his talent and accompanied him on a tour, and at the age of 17 he licked the cover of music magazines. After that, I received a request from John Riden, a vocalist of Sex Pistols, who is also an enthusiastic reggae fan, to take photos of the band, and film the tour and recording period as well as my personal life. John Riden will continue to pursue its activities even after the formation of P.I.L. In addition, he has been active in numerous other musicians such as Patti Smith, Stone Roses, Oasis, Primal Scream, Radiohead, and other magazines and advertisements such as Rolling Stones, Time, and People. Currently living in London.
