| ――After 100 years, the kindness and sorrow that cannot be brought back to the present age.―― |
 |
|
The Happy Prince, based on Oscar Wilde, is a beautiful and memorable story that everyone once touched at a young age.
The "Happy Prince" has been revived as a new "Happy Prince" by the beautiful textile works of Asami Kiyokawa.
Asami Kiyokawa has presented various objects such as art works using yarn and cloth, costumes, objects, illustrations, etc., and the originality-filled world view using its unique methods is attracting attention from both art and fashion perspectives.
This time, in the Logos Gallery, we will create the sparkling world of Asami Kiyokawa through "Happy Prince".

| ――Textiles that trace the memories of childhood and spun out vividly―― |
| |
Cloths and laces are piled up like oil paintings, and threads go through the screen as if they were alive. And one by one is carefully scattered beads and spangles that shine like jewels. The image born in her head overflowed with light and shadow, and began to spin a number of scenes scooped up from the "Happy Prince".
A lot of materials are put on her life, forgetting their shape, and wearing a new form. And it appeals to our vision beyond the existence of threads and cloths. Is it an embroidery, a picture, or an object? We are surprised and a little confused by the inability to categorize, but her work "Happiness Prince" becomes a strong image and captivates us inadvertently.
The nostalgic warmth and the works that invite the dark part of the human heart are like the tenderness of the faint swallow and the sorrow of the prince. The scales and threads of many cloths she dedicated to this work bring us happiness, like the gold strips that swallows carry to the city. |

◆Story◆
The image of the prince, covered with whole body gold, is the sadness and suffering of the people of the city. Coincidentally, the swallow, who descends to the prince, carries the gold and jewels he wears to the poor in order to fulfill his wish. The happiness they brought to people.……。 A story full of love between the prince and the swallow, asking what is really important. |
 |
| The new translation of Mizuhito Kanehara gently and smoothly traced the transition of the characters' hearts, giving a new taste to the story. Photographer Tomoki Imai, who shot textile works, gives light and shadow to the work, and expresses the expression of cloth and thread in detail. The binding is designed by Hideki Nakajima, who has always been sending out front-line creations. |
