CLAMP is a creative group that produces huge hit manga such as "Magic Knight Rei Earth", "X", "Card Capter Sakura", "xxxHOLiC", and "Tsubasa". CLAMP has a reputation for the beauty and precision of the painting, but "Mokona" is in charge of drawing.
Logos Gallery will hold a commemorative exhibition of Mokona's first artist book "CLAMP Mokonookimono", which is scheduled to be released by Kawade Shobo Shinsha on February 14th.
This exhibition conveys the joy of Kimono life while exhibiting real items of Kimono and Japanese accessories designed by Mokona, and can be enjoyed by a wide range of customers not only by conventional CLAMP fans.
It's been three years since I decided to wear kimono as much as possible in my daily life. The trigger is a swallow pattern yukata that appears in this book. I was pushed back by the words of CLAMP member Tsubaki Nekoi, "Would you like to wear it because it's cute?" I was just beginning to paint a work called "xxxHOLiC".
Since then, there have been many opportunities for characters to wear kimonos in manga works, and drawing kimonos has become fun. Of course, there were more opportunities to wear in everyday life, and I was especially attracted to the beauty and depth of antique kimonos. Now, I have gained experience of spending time in kimono on hot summer and cold winter days, and I have gradually begun to understand how to get along with kimono depending on the season.
Therefore, I would like people who are planning to wear kimono in the future to live a kimono life as easily as possible, and I want to increase the number of kimono friends more and more. I made a book called "Okimonokimono" this time.
I work on various things, such as designing kimonos, making accessories, etc., but I wouldn't be so happy if there are more friends who can exchange information about making things.
Kimono is difficult, troublesome……Some of you will think so. However, if you hold down the basics, you can devise as much as you want, so I think that's fun. Through this book, I hope that you will be able to spread the wonderful world of kimono together with you.

Mokona

A member of CLAMP, a creative group consisting of four women (the other three are Igarashi Kanzuki, Okawa Hibasa, Tsubaki Nekoi). In 1989, he published "Shoden" in "South" No. 3 (Shinshokan) and made his debut. Since then, he has released a series of popular works such as "Tokyo Babylon", "X", "Magic Knight Rei Earth", "Card Capter Sakura", "Angelic Layer", "Chobittsu", "Tsubasa-ReserVoir CHRoNiCLE-", and "xxxHOLiC". Comics Total

Starting in 1991, most of the published works have been visualized as TV anime, theater anime, original video animation (OVA), anime clips, and more. Among them, Card Capter Sakura (NHK Educational TV), which was broadcast from 1998 to 2000, monopolized the main part of the annual Grand Prix of each anime magazine (made and released as theater anime in 1999 and 2000).

In the spring of 2006, the TV anime version of Tsubasa Chronicle (NHK Educational TV) of Tsubasa - RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE-, which is serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, and the TV anime version of xxxHOLiC, which is serialized in Young Magazine (TBS series, BS-i, Kids Station) were aired. In addition, there are many related titles such as drama & music CDs, game software, and CD-ROMs, and the number of CDs alone is well over 100 titles. In addition to comic works, he is also active in the fields of illustrations, illustrations, bindings, scripts, and essays.

In addition, foreign language versions have been released in all 17 countries, including the United States, France, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. In response to this popularity, we held autograph sessions and talk events in South Korea in May 2006. In July of the same year, he was invited as a special guest at AX (Anime Expo) in the United States, attracting more than 5,000 fans at the talk event venue.
