Exhibition description

■First of all
What is Traditional Kokeshi doll?
The main production areas of "Tradition Kokeshi doll" are Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures.
Originally, a wood craftsman in Tohoku (a craftsman who makes wood trays and vessels) made it as a child's toy as a side job.
Depending on its appearance and shape, it is roughly divided into 11 systems: Tsuchiyu, Yajiro, Togatta, Naruko, Sakunami, Yamagata, Kijiyama, Nanbu, Tsugaru, Takayu Zao, and Hijiori.
